Perhaps because I was an English professor for most of my life, friends are always asking me what good book I have read recently. Well, I am happy to report that I have just completed a wonderful first novel by David Lummis entitled The Coffee Shop Chronicles of New Orleans. Some of you may have read the journals I posted regarding my recent trip to New Orleans this April, at which time I met David Lummis and his life partner Csaba Lukacs. Thus, it is a privilege and a pleasure for me to publish the first review of The Coffee Shop Chronicles of New Orleans: Part 1 right here on Swampland, as well as a feature article on David himself: "Meet David Lummis."
